Here are the last minute details you'll need before the HHM.


Basic Info:

  • Friday, November 15th 6:30p to 9p - HHM Happy Hour - tickets are on sale now $18/each or two for $32

  • Friday, November 15th 9p to 10p - Maker Mixer

  • Saturday, November 16th - 10am to 4pm - Entry is $2 donation to Art Feeds

  • Inside Joplin Empire Market - 931 East 4th Street in Joplin, Missouri


The Space:

  • The Joplin Empire Market is an old brick building, the floors are concrete, ceilings are fairly tall, exposed/painted brick, no natural light so bring lamps/lighting if that’s important to you. Especially those of you in corner spots.

Setting Up:

  • If you’re in the first room, you can pull up right by the main entrance to the big yellow garage door. We’ll open it up for you. If you’re in the second room, you’re welcome to pull up by the emergency exit and we’ll open that door up for you. This is for your convenience but we ask that you please be considerate and unload only, then move your vehicle out of the way quickly so that others can do the same. Then you can come back inside and set up your display.

  • All spaces have access to electricity, but please bring extension cords.

  • All 8x6 booths are 8 wide 6 feet deep.


Giveaway:

  • We asked you to donate at an item or items equal to $10 or more for the giveaways.

  • We are doing the giveaways differently this time. You will keep your item with you at your booth, and the winner will come to you to claim it! Bonus! You get more face time with patrons. (Sorry introverts!)

  • We do need to know what item you are giving away and the value. So we’ll ask you about that when you “check -in” with me. You may check in with me after you've unloaded and set up or before that's up to you, just make sure you do it by 9:30 am on Saturday. The giveaways items, along with an HHM tote will happen every half hour beginning at 10:30. This is only happening on Saturday, not Friday. You will be given some entry slips that you will give out one per purchase. The more someone shops from different booths, the more chances they have to win. Patrons should fill out the forms themselves at the info booth, we'll have pens and the container we’re collecting them in there!


Media:

  • Use #HipHandmadeMarket and #fallHHM, we’ll be reposting and sharing your stuff over the next few days.

  • Here are some our graphics, feel free to share and post and whatever.


The People:

  • Of course I will be there doing whatever is needed and trying to make sure things go as smoothly as possible.

  • Ivy runs the Empire Market and is there to answer our questions if needed, but she’s also a vendor and has a lot going on, so come to me first.

  • Amanda German is out caterer and bartender Friday night. She makes yummy food and stiff drink.

  • Amanda Stone will be absent from this show. She’s having outpatient surgery so send good vibes her way please! Megan will be there helping out. She’ll walk around making sure you're taken care of. You can trust her at your booth if you need to go to the bathroom or to get a coffee or something. W'e’ve totally got your back. Just don't abuse any volunteer’s time. YOU are responsible for your booth.

  • Larry is the voice of the HHM and he’ll make announcements as needed. No song requests will be granted.
